Day 47 – Bowling Western

I’m quite a fan of bowling. I just don’t go enough, normally because life is to hectic. Bowling Western from Magma Mobile could have filled that void for me, but unfortunately it falls flat.

The controls are simple and effective which is great, you slide left, right, and upwards to direct your bowling ball towards the pins. Where the game falls flat is the lack of variety. I’ve played Bowling Western on my own and with friends in multiplayer, and everyone thought the same. The game itself is very plain. There is just one level with one set amount of balls and colours. There are no upgrades and unlock-able features.

There was no cross mobile multiplayer either, this was handled by passing the phone around us as a group. It’s easy to imagine a more engaging game with trick shots, different levels, special abilities to luck, sending jokes and taunts to friends you’re playing against etc. It’s not an old game, so we know the technology is available. It’s a shame it missed out on this great opportunity.
