Day 67 – Ball-Hop Anniversary

Classic fete games were popular for a reason, the simple fun found in a coconut shy or hoopla is something that reminds many people of a happier time; childhood. Ball-Hop Anniversary perfectly highlights that joy, feeling much like a proper fete game of ball-hop.

Whilst this game has a classic feel, there are a few modern features which make the experience much more exciting and addictive. The first of those being slow-motion seen on the final shot of each game. This adds to the suspense of whether or not your final, precious ball will land in that esteemed 100 points hole. Another cool feature is the tickets and new balls the player will receive which surprisingly allows for some progression, this being unexpected in a basic arcade game like this.

Of course there is nothing amazing to be expected from the graphics of a game like this, however I feel that their could have been a more exciting background or colourful design. The sounds are nice with a little ‘ping’ of success upon the arrival of a ball into a hole.

This is easily one of the best arcade type games I have played, with its simplicity making it an easy, relaxing and fun play.
